Putting on Cara's tagCara entered the MTC on October 22. She is truly amazing. She was calm, confident and very happy. We had a few errands to run that morning and as people would say "Have a nice day" Cara would respond "Oh, I am going to have the best day ever!!" Her incredibly positive attitude and a great outlook on life and its challenges will take her far in her mission.
As you enter the MTC the missionaries go thru one door and the families go thru another- within about 30 seconds of entering the MTC doors Cara was high -fiveing another new missionary. We thought - what the heck.......She had just met Elder Shumway! He is from the Charles Shumway/MaryAnn Hooker line and going to Switzerland - a new friend already!
A few tears were shed with the last hugs. Saying goodby to Daddy was hard. She was excited and anxious to meet her companion and become "fluent" in Spanish. She is very ready to be a missionary. We know she will be a great one.
