March 9 Letter

Hello everyone!
How is everyone doing? Thank you so much for the e-mails and everything! I love love LOVE them! First things first, the cross roads to our apartment, Mom, are Quenon and Maipu, we live in the apartment right above the pizzeria in Quenon, the pizzeria is yellow. I do not have my pillow with me in Argentina. Who has my pillow from home? I hope they're sleeping well with it...I miss it, but Heavenly Father is blessing me because I sleep SOOOO well at night! I can't send pictures through the computer because I don't have the cord that can hook up to it. Sorry =( maybe my comp has a cord she can use and we can send some from her camera. We'll see, but either one of us may be transferred next week so...who knows! Can you believe transfers are already next week? That means this is Race's last transfer! He'll be home at the end of April! That's insane! I hit 6 months at the end of this next transfer...WHAT?! Mom, I'll probably get the package at interviews tomorrow. I hope I get it. We'll see! I'm way excited for the tape! I know that's the next package to come, but I'm still excited! Anyway, so this week. Not so successful. Olga didn't come to church, well...nobody came to church again. We were a little discouraged but we're trying to keep our spirits up even with the "one a day" baptismal date we have now. This meaning the goal for our mission is to find a new investigator or a famliy to teach every day and invite them to be baptized. Upon learning this in our district meeting, I'm not gonna lie, my heart sank a little bit. It's hard enough getting one a WEEK let alone every day. I feel like I'm working so hard already, but it's okay, I just have to work harder! Heavenly Father is trying our faith, my faith. If this is what he expects (and it is because this is what our mission president has given us), he will provide a way. He always provides a way. Like with Nephi and getting the plates, the food for his family and building the boat. He will provide the way. We will not be baptizing in March because Olga didn't come to church this week. She said she was having really bad back pain and needed to stay in bed. This woman needs Dr. Steve! Brother Sorensen hurry get down here! These people need you! Hahaha, ahem...in all seriousness, we now have to push her baptism to April. We haven't seen Valeria in a while. She hasn't been answering her phone and she wasn't home when we went by on Saturday. We didn't have an appointment on Saturday, we just dropped by to see how she was doing. We'll see what's gonna happen with that. Javier and his family...we just don't know. He said he would call when we could come by, but we need to call them. We're planning to do that this week. I played the piano on Wednesday for our district meeting. The opening song we sang was "Choose the Right". It definitely was choose something...more like, Hermana Shumway needs to choose the right NOTES to play. Hahahaha it was so fun and good practice. =) I told the elders that I didn't know how to play the piano, but considering my new obsession with the instrument and them walking in to our district meetings seeing me playing it, they didn't buy it. What a surprise they got! Haha oh dear... As far as the weather goes...my hands are really cold right now trying to type and the nights have been a lot cooler so I think we're heading into fall. ¡POR FIN! Wow. Anyway, scriptures that have helped me this week have been 2 Nephi 1:27, a quote from Douglas L. Callister of the 70 "I know what I know and my witness is true." I'm learning a lot about what having faith actually means and learning tons about my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. "I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine to rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine." He loves me and He loves all of you. Stay willingly faithful and he will provide a way.
All my love,Hermana Cara
