June 29 Letter

What is uuuuup???
HUGO GOT CONFIRMED THIS WEEK!!! I was so happy when we saw him on Sunday. We had been trying to visit him all week, but it was just NOT working out, we could NEVER find him in his house! Saturday night we called him and asked him if he would be in church on Sunday and he said YES! He was there and he got confirmed. Yohana was there too! She's so awesome! We set a baptismal date with her this week. She will be baptized the 18th of July. She told us she thought baptism was when she knew everything and we were like....uh....NO! It's almost the opposite. People get baptized when they don't know anything, but they trust in the Lord and His promises to the people who follow the feelings and confirmations they receive from the spirit! Anyway, she also helped us clean the church on Friday. It was funny because we signed up to go at 3. Hermana Gonzalez and I got there earlier to open the church and get things started. Yohana arrived at 3:06 and said, I'm so sorry I'm late! I need to learn to be more punctual. I had to laugh. Maybe she'll break the evil Mormon Standard Time curse...who knows? =) I swear my time here gets shorter every week. It's FLYING by. The next transfer cycle, July 22, I'll be half way done...dang that stinks. I swear when I first got to Argentina, I thought, "there is NO way I can do this for 16 more months." Now I think, oh my GOSH!?! I only have 10 months left...NOOOO! Anyway, life is good, we taught a wonderful family this week and the kids are SOOOO smart. They were really excited to have the Book of Mormon. We taught the two women (I don't know if their husbands are present or not), Yanina and Mercedes and three kids baptism age, Caren, 11, Julieta,9, and Claudio, 8. We'll see how it goes with them! We also taught another woman, Gladys, who seemed really interested in what we had to say and understood the need for the Book of Mormon. She was awesome! Please pray that they will progress! Anyway, I know this is short, but I want some time to write to my other siblings! I hope everyone is doing wonderfully! Remember that many MANY times we can't see past the things that are required of us, but through the door of our obedience, there are a MILLION blessings! I love being a missionary and I love my Heavenly Father. I learn something new about Him and about myself every day. I'm so thankful for my savior. He knows everything about me and He loves me so much He sacrificed Himself so that He can hug me when my life is over and tell me how pleased He is with me. BUT! ONLY if I do what I know I should. We should ALWAYS be thinking about that time. It may be farther away for some that it is for others, but we need to start preparing NOW for our lives in the eternity. I love you all so much, thank you for your prayers and support. Have an amazing week!
All my love,Hermana Shumway
