January 26 Letter

Dear All,

I don't have a lot of time. Yesterday when we were doing our internet, the power cut out. It does that a lot this time of year...not really sure why. We're finishing up today and this is the only computer we have so let's see what I can tell you in 5 minutes...
The past week was good, however, we're not really sure what's going on with Lucas. We taught him the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity Thursday night and set up an appointment for Friday, but we could not get a hold of him. Last we heard he was in Jesús María with his daughter. We'll see what happens there.
We were able to go to the baptism of an Evangelic man on Saturday. Our mission president found him and and was able to baptize him as well! How fun! I guess he was in charge of all of the Evangelic churches in some place and he's engaged and NOT living with the woman amazingly. That's the first case I've heard of in this country. Anyway, it was an awesome experience and when the man (Alejandro) gave his testimony, he said, "What God opens, NO ONE can shut." So profound.
I've had a lot of people this last week ask me if I'm from Mexico. I just laugh and say, "The only thing close to Mexican that my DAD has is his skin tone." I guess my accent with hermana González is always amazing! ;) I love speaking spanish!
Anyway, I hope everyone's doing great! I love you all so much! Have an amazing week!
